Work In Thailand? You Don't Just Have To Teach English

Imagine staying at a quiet beach, enjoying life and earning money from your laptop. Now imagine teaching English to hundreds of Thai children every day in the city. Which would you prefer?

If you're looking for ways to work in Thailand, you don't just have to Teach English in Bangkok like everyone else.

I spent about eight years teaching, which I admit was quite enjoyable. But it doesn't compare to staying on Koh Chang and working from my laptop for a few hours every day.

Just, picture yourself doing that for a moment! You can work in Thailand doing what I do.

The work I'm talking about is internet marketing, or affiliate marketing as it is sometimes referred to.

Affiliate marketing is the process of promoting other people's products or services on the internet. There are thousands of companies that will pay you up to 75% of the total price of the product if you can send customers to their site.

For example assume that 'company X' sells plasma TVs online.

If you join their affiliate program, they give you unique links for you to spread all over the internet. If someone clicks one of your links, it takes the customer to company X's online store.

If they buy a plasma TV, you will get a commission.

So if company X was selling $2000 plasma TVs and offering a 20% commission you would earn $400 from that sale.

You don't need to make many sales to be able to stay at the beach in Thailand! True Highspeed Broadband is only about 400 baht per month.

You might think that sounds unrealistic and that you have to be good at selling etc but think about this: How many people on the planet buy something online everyday?

Millions and millions of dollars are spent online everyday and there are hundreds of thousands of products to promote.

All you have to do is point them in the right direction.

I'm not going to go into the finer points of affiliate marketing now because it's way beyond the scope of this article.

If you want to be good at it, like anything else in life it requires learning.

The fact is though people make huge amounts of money from affiliate marketing. I'm not proclaiming that I am, but I don't need to. I don't need to make a fortune to live on the islands!

You probably have to spend three or four months studying and practicing before you start making enough to live on. The cost of living in Thailand isn't that high compared to the west so it doesn't take as long to master all the techniques.

Everyone is different though and it depends How Much time you put into it.

The bottom line is, it's just a little bit better than teaching English!

I've got a condo in Bangkok, but I spend most of the time in Koh Chang as all I need is my laptop.

The big difference though is whether you read this and do something about it. A lot of people have an opportunity and never take action. Don't make that mistake.

You don't have to spend years teaching English like I did.
