What's the best book for learning shorthand?
I want to learn shorthand since im a really slow writer and i always fall behind in classes (ok it was one and it was because my spanish teacher writes unbelievably fast) and for A level im taking fairly hard topics that i need to write lots of notes so i need a shorthand book that is simple to understand (why cause more grief than needed?) so any ideas?
I don't know of any books...but the key to writing shorthand is to make sure that you can understand what you wrote.
For example, this is what I write in shorthand that I understand:

w/ (without)
I also take out words from sentences that don't need to be there, such as "the." I would take out the "the" in this: "Put the pencil over there." The words "the" and "over" don't need to be written, as the sentence will still make sense without them and I'll know what I need to do with the pencil. You don't have to write sentences out word for word.
Shorthand takes practice and is essential to writing. It took me a good while to get comfortable with this because I was scared I wouldn't understand my writing, but the brain gets used to it and so does the hand in writing out the words.
